Electoral Records

Recent electoral records are very useful in tracing living relatives as they list all eligible voters by townland and household. Older records are useful for historical research.

There are no name indexes for these records so geographical information as regards the location of the individual(s) you are researching is essential.

The records fall into three main categories:

  • General List of Juries, 1897 - 1910 (incomplete)
  • Incomplete Register of Electors, 1897 - 1902
  • Register of Electors, 1925 - 2005 (some gaps)

All these records are held off-site so prior booking is essential.
