Thomastown Library

Located in South Kilkenny, Thomastown Library offers a welcoming and inclusive space for readers, learners, and families. Visitors of all ages can enjoy free access to a wide range of books, newspapers, audiobooks, games and DVDs, as well as printing and photocopying services, study spaces, public computers and Wi-Fi. The library also provides access to a dedicated collection of Local Studies materials to help our borrowers explore the rich local heritage and history of the area.
With friendly and welcoming staff and regular events such as storytimes, book clubs, class visits and educational workshops the library caters to all ages and interests. In a community renowned for its creative spirit, Thomastown Library is a vibrant hub for information, inspiration, and connection. 
The brand-new Thomastown Library will open on Wednesday, May 20th 2026, offering extended opening hours, expanded services and enhanced spaces for the entire community.
