My Open Library

The My Open Library service at Mayfair and Castlecomer Libraries extends opening hours, from 8am to 10pm, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Thomastown library is expected to be added in 2026. Staff are not available during My Open Library hours. The library is monitored by CCTV cameras.
My Open library members can borrow and return items, use the internet/Wi-Fi, print, photocopy and study. To use this service you must become a My Open Library member.
How to apply
If you are 16 years or older you can become a My Open Library member and use this self-service facility. You must fill in an application form during staffed hours so that staff can go through the details of the service with you. To apply for this service you must be a library member in good standing. You will be required and do a safety induction, provide ID and proof or address and sign up to strict user policies. 16-year olds will require an adult parent/guardian to be present for inductions. Failure to adhere to the rules will result in denial of service. An application is required per location.
