If you’re a fan of the online newspapers and magazines available through your library, we have some great news – they’re now available on BorrowBox!

This means that you can get eBooks, audiobooks, newspaper and magazines all in one place.

The Libby and PressReader apps are no longer available through the library but, don’t worry, BorrowBox has you covered instead.

If you’re already a BorrowBox user, you’ll see a new ePress section in the app, and that’s where you’ll find magazines and newspapers.

If you’re not already using Borrowbox, it’s really easy to start and you’ll love it! Just download the app, log in with your library details and start to browse, borrow and read.

Registration – Borrowbox is available on your desktop, and also as an app for Apple Devices, Android Devices, and on Amazon Fire.

With Comics Plus through Library Pass, you can borrow thousands of free eComics and graphic novels from your library. All you need is a library card and PIN. Access through your browser, or download the Library Pass app.

We have a dedicated children’s library as well as a collection more suitable for an older audience 

Comics Plus can be used by under 18’s. Parent or guardians are responsible for their children under 18yrs digital content selections when using this service.

Registration – Registration is easy. All you need is to have a library card and PIN. Choose which collection you want to register for, and then enter your details.

You now have access. Unlimited downloads, no reserves, if you see it you can download it.

PressReader offers access to more than 6,000 newspapers and magazines from more than 100 countries in 60+ languages. All you need to access is your library card number.

Registration – You can access PressReader through their website or by downloading the app. All you need is a library card number.

When you go to register:

  1. Click on 'sign-in' and then 'Library and Group'.
  2. Search for Kilkenny library services and login with your library card number (digits only, no KIL before it)
  3. On this page there are two options, Library Card and PIN sign in, or just Library Card sign in, scroll to the second option. No PIN needed.

You are now registered and have 30 days access to this service. At the end of the 30 days, sign out of your account and sign back in to reactivate your access.
