Aistear is the early childhood curriculum framework for children from birth to six years in Ireland.
To support children and teachers, we have developed a core collection of Aistear themed book sets, which are available exclusively to early learning centres and primary school infant classes, and can be borrowed by contacting your local library – pre-booking may be required, so we advise teachers to contact us as soon as possible in the school term with requests.
Each set comprises 20-25 books supporting themes below and can be borrowed for a maximum of 3 months. Books are mainly board books and picture books, with simple text and lots of images, so children can enjoy them as part of the Aistear experience.

These sets are available for loan with your teachers card (available free of charge from any of our libraries). Collections are currently housed in Loughboy, Thomastown, Ferrybank and Castlecomer Libraries, as well as on our mobile Library van. Contact Library Headquarters or your local branch for details.
