Bookville Re-imagined - Bookville in a Book!

We have re-imagined Bookville for 2020 and we have created Bookville in a book, a wonderful activity book to treasure. Packed with fun activities and beautifully illustrated, the activity book is based on books and illustrations from some of the best contemporary children's books and is widely available from your local public library in Kilkenny city and county. We delivered 10,000 copies to schools all over Kilkenny in recent weeks, so teachers and children can enjoy the activities!  Click here to read and download the booklet.

Bookville Kilkenny's 3rd year brought another amazing lineup to families and children all over the county. With a broad range of free public events and exciting schools programme, there was something for everyone!

From October 7th to October 14th 2019, we ran another packed programme of theatre, music, literature, comedy, visual arts and workshops. With Dr. Norah Patten, Dave Rudden, Joanna Donnelly & Juanita Browne amongst others, it booked up very quickly!

Bookville is brought to you by Kilkenny Arts Office and Kilkenny Library Service supported by the Creative Ireland programme.  Events are countywide across the library network, in the Arts Office on Dean Street and in Butler House on Patrick Street.

This festival would not exist without our audiences and the support that you give to the festival so we look forward to seeing you at Bookville 2020 and hope that this festival will continue to inspire children of all ages to become critical thinkers with curious minds in the future.
